Whistler Cooks catering originated in 1999 and became incorporated in 2002 as Whistler Cooks fine foods inc. Owned and operated by Grant and Hilarie Cousar who live in the Whistler area, Whistler Cooks is the largest off site corporate and social caterer in the sea to sky region. Whistler Cooks chef and owners Grant and Hilarie Cousar have been in the restaurant industry for over twenty years. In their time Grant and Hilarie have served and cooked for guests, including celebrities, public figures, multinationals, and friends alike. The event of having company for dinner has always been a most rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Professionally, Grant has cooked in many restaurants from award winning fine dining to casual high volume. From two thousand to two, Grant has always been excited about sharing his talents. Grant studied at renowned dubrulle culinary school in vancouver, bc. Hilarie has worked around the world serving and managing the best restaurants. Whistler cooks also employs a vast group of the best chefs & service staff to further complement our service to you.

Life is the reason Whistler Cooks was created. Grant and Hilarie and the love of the life in the mountains are the spirit behind our food that has grown to encompass the local ingredients in the fertile valleys around us. The result is a culmination of the timeless refinements of a french classical background mixed with the pacific rim’s asian and northwest flavours; a fresh approach using the very best local ingredients available.

Recently, Whistler Cooks grew from a core staff of 20 last year to over 400 for the Olympic-paralympic period. Our team was managing the catering at 4 Olympic venues including the Whistler Olympic Park where ski jump, cross country and biathlon events were held, the Whistler Sliding Centre which hosted luge, bobsleigh and skeleton, the whistler celebration plaza and as well an olympic support facility at brandywine. We offered food to a mix a people including the olympic athletes, international and local spectators and the thousands of workers who kept the games moving. During that period, we dished out an astonishing 300 000 meals in 28 days and are proud to say it was a total success!
